Do you feel that your body is really tired all the time? Not depressed or overly stressed but just simply tired. Like you are sleeping well, eating well, exercising, and doing everything right but your body is telling you it has had enough, and now all it wants is some peace of mind and rest. You are not alone! It happens to a lot of us and the reason may not always be medical. In this article, we’ll cover what can cause you to be unmotivated and some ways you can help spark motivation back into your life.
There are a lot of people who feel the same way. It can be very annoying at times especially if you have not reached a point where you can figure out what is making you so tired. There are days when all you have done is gone out with friends and had a nice brunch but by the time you are home, you feel exhausted. You feel like every part of your body aches and now all you want to do is wrap yourself up in a cozy blanket and just take a nap. Some days it feels like a task to get off that couch and go out with friends or meet people.
It might make you think that there is something wrong with you. While yes, it is very important to get yourself physically checked and your vitamin levels to make sure you are not feeling exhausted because of underlying health problems. Also, when you say you get enough sleep, then think about the quality of sleep. If the sleep quality is poor, then it can be a major reason for your lethargy. Your body needs a good 8 hours of sleep every day to recharge and if that’s not happening then it is bound to feel tired.
But apart from health reasons, sometimes this lack of energy or tiredness can be because of something else altogether.
Introverts usually find social gatherings or parties extremely draining. While your friends might absolutely love to spend a night out drinking and partying to recharge themselves after a long week at work, you might find the very idea of attending a party exhausting.
This is when you need to ask yourself, what motivates you? It’s possible that your idea of recharging your body and mind might be different compared to others. If the idea of going out for a party sounds exhausting for you on a Saturday night but at the same time taking your dog out for a walk at 4 a.m. in the morning feels like refreshing, then there is nothing wrong with you. You just need to find out what motivates you and what recharges you!
Listen to your body and do things that directly affect your mood and energy levels. Going out every once in a while is great and you should do it because we all need friends and good food after all. But at the same time don’t give in to peer pressure, don't try to follow the norm, and find out what works for you. If it is sleeping in on weekends, chilling with friends at home, or maybe taking an early morning jog/walk, then do that. Do what energizes you and keeps you moving. Slowly, you will see your body and mind responding as well.
